Why "Weft"?
In weaving, the weft is the horizontal thread that passes back and forth through the vertical warp, binding everything together into a single fabric. Without the weft, you just have loose strings hanging in space — structure without substance.
That's what raw financial data feels like. Thousands of companies file millions of pages with the SEC every year — revenue here, liabilities there, cash flows buried in footnotes. The numbers exist, but nothing connects them.
Weft Screener is the thread that ties it all together. We take scattered filings and weave them into something you can actually read, screen, and act on. One clean fabric of standardized financial data, edge to edge, company to company.
Our Mission
Financial data shouldn't be locked behind expensive terminals or cluttered with ads and upsells. We built Weft Screener because we believe every investor deserves access to accurate, standardized company financials presented in a way that's actually useful.
Our goal is simple: take the raw data that companies file with the SEC and turn it into something you can screen, filter, compare, and analyze — without needing a Bloomberg terminal or a finance degree.
How It Works
Every public company in the U.S. is required to file financial statements with the SEC. These filings (10-K annual reports, 10-Q quarterly reports) contain the ground-truth numbers: revenue, net income, assets, liabilities, cash flows, and hundreds of other data points.
Weft Screener pulls this data directly from SEC EDGAR, standardizes it across companies (even when they use different accounting labels), and presents it in a fast, searchable screener. We also generate company analysis pages with AI-assisted summaries of each company's business, risks, and competitive position — always grounded in the actual filing text.
